All our cotton toys are made with bird - safe cotton.*
What is the difference between regular 100% cotton and bird safe 100% cotton?
Regular Cotton is made with very tight woven strings that do not break easily. When the cotton gets unraveled you
have a lot of very hard to break individual cotton strings, that can wrap around limbs , necks or wings.
The difference in bird safe cotton is the way it was woven. It is very loosely woven and extremely soft.
When birds pick on it, they come away with small tufts of cotton, no solid strings.
The individual strands are not tightly woven, but have a loose "primitive" weave and the birds love to "preen" their cotton toys.
