Mutation Greencheek Conures
Cinnamon Green Cheek  Conure......Yellowsided Conure......Pineapple Conure
..
Cinnamon (used to be called fallow) Green Cheeks

This is a mutation of the regular Green Cheek Conure. When we  first started to breed this mutation, it was called a
Fallow mutation by mistake.
The difference are the eyes,  a true Fallow  has  reddish eyes, while the cinnamon has darker eyes.

These  birds   are born with a  very  beautiful muted coloration, the  green  is  more of a sea foam green,  the  browns
are more of a peach  brownish red  color. In some birds the  peach color goes all the way up   and edge their cheeks.  Their  beaks are bone colored instead  of dark, so are their legs and  feet. On some of the birds  the head  looks almost silver.

Over the  years  less and less people  are calling them Fallows,  but  if  you  hear of anybody  having a fallow  Green
Cheek Conure
in the United States,  they  are most likely  talking about a cinnamon  Green Cheek Conure.

A Cinnamon Green Cheek Conure  is sex linked,  which means  the color  gene is  passed  from the  male  to  the off
spring.   They are much lighter colored , the tail is light maroon and the green is more of a pastel green. They have
the same personality as the regular Green Cheek and make very good pets.

Yellow - sided Green Cheek Conure
These  birds are more colorful, the  pictures  from  below  are several years old  and are   some  of the   early
yellow sided  mutations we raised.

It seems  that with  each  year and each  generation  they  are getting  more and more colorful  and  the  colors are
more intense and  bright  than even  5 years ago. The  red  has  gotten a more crimson  red color , and  the yellows
are brighter and more intense.

As   far as pet quality  is concerned,  they  have the same  sweet  temperament  as Normals or  Cinnamons,
and  make  delightful  pets.

Pineapple Green Cheek Conure
One of the newer mutations are Pineapple Green Cheek Conures.  The word  pineapple has been chosen for easier identification of the bird,  he really is a cinnamon/yellowsided  Green Cheek.

However to get these beautiful colors it takes several years of breeding ( see chart on how to breed for the  pineapple
mutation) and several  years ago   it  was  harder to find a  Pineapple male, but  now  in  2008   it is  much  easier  to find a breeder  that  raises this  beautiful  mutation  and the  price  has come  down  a little on them also.

Again,  the same  applies  about each  generation  getting more  colorful,  and they almost rival  a sun conure  in their  beautiful  coloring.

They are stunningly beautiful little birds, with the same pet quality as   a regular Green Cheek conure  and are much in demand right now.
