A Green Cheek conure is my favorite because I had one I loved! Her name was Kimberly and she was beautiful. I would hold her on my finger and she would jump to my shoulder.

She would protect me also, if my grandpa would tickle me and I would scream she would squawk and get all upset and try to bit grandpa. I always know if she had to go the rest room. She would shake her tail before.

She loved water and if I put a cup she would dive in and sometimes get stuck, I had to pull her head out! When she was born she was bit in the head in the nest box. When she first started to walk she walked in circles. When her feathers grew in one would stand straight up on top of her head. We instantly bonded  so the lady at the pet store just gave her to me.

I could do cartwheels with her on my stomach or back and she would hang on tight. I would run and play tag with her on my shoulder and she never flew off. Her favorite place was on my shoulder where she could play in my hair. She went everywhere with me.

Once I went to Mc Donald’s and the sign said no pets so I stayed in the car and finally I went in even though I didn't want to because I was barefoot and thought my mom had the keys but she didn't so I panicked when I realized I locked her in the car. She just sat on the seat looking at us while the locksmith opened the car. The locksmith said we didn't have to pay , she would just take my bird. She was joking.

My Kimberly was very sensitive and smart and seemed to know what I was feeling. She died when I was 10 and I got her when I was 4 or 5. The worst day of our lives happened when there was a bad thunderstorm . I was at school and there was a huge boom of thunder, loud enough it busted a window at my moms work.

I came home from school and she was dead . We think the thunder gave her a heart attack. I screamed and cried and ran to my mom and told her. When I knew exactly she was dead me and my mom laid on my bed for an hour crying and crying. We buried her by our mailbox and planted a rose. The rose is only a foot high and never blooms yet it bloomed for us on Christmas day. We know it was from her.

That is why she is my favorite bird and I love her. I now have a new bird Kimberly the 2nd.
