In Fall of 2001  Deryl showed his first bird at the TEXAS BIRD BREEDERS & FANCIERS ASSOCIATION Show in Temple Texas. He picked a quaker from  our aviary who was one of our single breeders who had lost his mate that year. The bird was 2 years old. The morning of the show  he put him in  a show cage and  it took  a little while, but the bird settled down and proudly  showed his stuff.
He sat there chest puffed out, like he had been to shows all his life.

This was  Deryls 2nd bird show. Having gotten attached to Pete our  single breeder we  never got 
around finding him a mate, nor did we want to sell him, so kept him in the aviary as an "extra" 
and Deryl took him to this fair.
Again he strutted his stuff, like he had been to shows  all his life.
This time he won

Deryl also took our  first pineapple mutation (yellow sided cinnamon) Green Cheek Conure.
Even so she looked very pretty and  we had lots of compliments she was rather spooked 
and did not want to behave and stay  on the perch  like a champion bird should. 
She got a ribbon for  1st in her class 
and 3rd in her section

Deryl is hoping to  get her more used to the show cage
 and will take her  on Nov 2nd to the Fall Show in Temple

This was  Deryls fourth  bird show.
